Four Seasons of Camaraderie
Martin Acres is undeniably one of the most incorporative communities in Boulder. To celebrate the past year and welcome the upcoming, let’s recap and embrace the events from MA’s Social Seasons.
Winter
Holiday Party – This festive gathering boasts mule-drawn wagon rides and Christmas caroling through MA’s winding streets. Neighbors enjoy ornament making, holiday storytelling and gingerbread cookie decorating. And there’s even a chance to snag a photo with Santa himself!
Spring
Eggstravaganza – At this annual hunt, little ones thump their feet over the fresh cut grass on mission to find Easter Eggs filled with goodies. Families arm up with their favorite baskets and enjoy the spring sunshine!
Summer
Bastille Day Potluck – This summer picnic in Martin Park is held every July. Participants are encouraged to bring something to grill and French-themed dish. And there’s always an invigorating activity to stimulate your appetite, like Volleyball and Bocce Ball.
Neighborhood Yard Sale – This community yard sale is strategically timed right before CU begins Fall Semester, and an ad is posted in the Daily Camera to promote the event. Residents hold off until summer for spring cleaning so that students can snatch up well-loved furniture and household items.
Fall
Pancake Breakfast – Every September, community members enjoy fresh brewed coffee, mouth-watering puffy pancakes and sticky maple syrup. This also serves as the only fundraiser for Martin Acres’ Neighborhood Association (MANA,) so it’s for a very good cause.
Pumpkin Decorating Party – Ghosts and ghouls of all ages enjoy pumpkin decorating with all the trimmings while sipping on delicious apple cider made from a man-powered, old fashioned apple press!
And with events always in the making, the MA community is prepared to tack on new exciting dates to its 2011 calendar.
