A Stroke of Genius: Free Summer Croquet Lessons at Wash Park
With so many summer activities to choose from here’s one that beats mowing the lawn...try playing on it. The Denver Croquet Club offers FREE lessons every Thursday evening now through September (weather permitting).
The Denver Croquet Club, or DCrC for short, was established in 1982 and cares for the grounds known as “the Lawn” centrally located in Wash Park. “The Lawn” was created in 1924 for the sport of Lawn Bowling. The Washington Park Lawn Bowling Club (not to be mistaken with Bocce Ball) is still active there as well and meets on Tuesday nights if you find that’s more your sport of choice.
As a non-profit organization, the Denver Croquet Club encourages the citizens of Denver and the surrounding Metro areas to join for the fun of the sport or to volunteer to help maintain “the Lawn”.
From the young to young at heart you will make fast friends and master the skills of this time-honored game. So get out there and enjoy some summer fun for free!
