Denver BCycle looks to expand in 2012

Two summers ago Denver BCycle arrived on the scene as a bicycle sharing infrastructure for residents around the city who wanted a greener, healthier way to get around the city. For a small fee, riders can ride bikes from station to station as they are needed - ideal for quick rides, when you need the bike only in one direction, or if you are using it in conjunction with other transportation such as RTD.
Early last December, Denver BCycle packed up for the season - bikes were brought in from the weather, repaired, and the next season of community cycling is being planned out.
Denver BCycle looks to return the cherry red bikes back to the checkout-kiosks on March 12th.
This year, Denver BCycle is teaming up with Denver Parks and Recreation is applying for a grant to fund the installation of BCycle kiosks at various parks around the city. One of the proposed installation is Marion Parkway - just north of Washington Park at Marion and Virigina.
There will be three public meetings held for each of the installations in order for citizens to voice their opinions, concerns, and suggestions for these kiosks.
The meeting time for the Marion Parkway installation will be on February 27th at 6 p.m. at the Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (600 S. Marion Parkway).

For more information about the meetings, bike sharing, or BCycle membership opportunities visit the Denver Bcycle website.
