Don’t You Miss Having a Big Yard and Aren’t the Houses too Close Together?
Without fail, I am asked whether I regret not having more of a yard and whether I feel the houses in Bradburn are too close together. No and no. Why? Because therein lies the key to the success of this community. Small yards & close houses draw neighbors out to the common areas and parks and subtly encourages relationship building.
On any given weekend or weekday after school, you will find pockets of kids playing and adults socializing in the parks, alleyways and front yards. It is not uncommon for neighbors to have a beer fridge in the garage and hand out beverages to the adults while the kids put on their helmets and start racing around on the wheels of their choice. My five year old loves to look out the window and see if any of her friends are playing outside. Unless the weather is truly abysmal or it is very dark, there are at least a handful of kids playing. We don't have to schedule the playdate or social event. It's right out our front door, side door and garage door.
