Fox Run Makes Perfect Haven for Gardeners, Golfers
At midsummer, when every well-landscaped lawn is a riot of flowers, butterflies and hummingbirds, you might wonder if a green thumb is a prerequisite to live in Fox Run. Fortunately, while a modestly priced HOA keeps the subdivision tidy, gardening skills don’t appear to be written into the covenants (we checked). Add affordable homes, sweeping mountain views and oodles of amenities and you’ve got a pretty clear picture of the Run (and its posh subsection, The Dens).
The subdivision, which is situated northwest of the 59th Avenue/20th Street intersection in Greeley’s Peak View neighborhood, was just going up when the recession hit, and many of the lots remain empty. Locals say there hasn’t been much construction in recent years, so if you manage to snag a house with empty lots on either side, you might enjoy several years of elbow room (no promises there).
Fox Run is mainly populated by ranch-style, single-family homes with full basements ripe for furnishing. Lots are typically beautifully landscaped but small — around a quarter of an acre. Prices in the main subdivision span the low to mid-200s. Homes are larger in the Dens section along 59th street, where prices may reach into the mid-300s.
Paved pathways fork through the community and offer options for off-street leisurely travel, as cyclists and joggers savor the mountain range views. And amenities are just footsteps away—the Farr Regional Library, Youth Sports Complex, Family FunPlex, the University and the West Ridge charter schools are within walkable distance.
