Pump It Up!
While Halloween is all about celebrating that night of dressing up in outlandish get-ups and munching on candy corn, some folks are focused on a greater cause. On Saturday, Oct. 29, Fitness for Living will hold its 3rd annual Halloween Food Drive and PUMP-kin workout. From 8:45 to 10 am, at Scott Carpenter Park, you will get a chance to burn calories and help those in need. All food collected goes to the Emergency Family Assistance Association. In keeping with the October festivities, you will be using a trusty pumpkin as a tool throughout your free workout. Who knew this orange veggie could serve as an instrument to tone that tummy and tighten those gluts! Make sure to bring one whose weight you can handle. Anywhere from 5 to 14 pounds is acceptable.
While the class is completely free, attendees are encouraged to bring either 4 non-perishable food items or a $15 donation to help those in our community who need support. Dressing up is definitely a great way to get into the workout feeling already victorious. A costume contest will be held and prizes will be given to the brave soul who sports the best frock. What are you going to be? Wonder Woman? The Incredible Hulk? A high gym-sock wearing 70s’ athlete?
