The need for technology in today’s real estate market is more apparent than ever. As RISMedia put it in their recent article, “When 95 percent of Americans stayed at home, we responded with unprecedented speed and adoption of technology.”
8z Real Estate has been ahead of this adoption, providing a number of virtual agent services to maintain the same quality of service when faced with the current challenges.
8z CEO Lane Hornung contributed to the article, stating that “Changes that were going to manifest in the next three years are now going to happen in the next three months.” Particularly with video, we’ve seen a huge adoption in these past several months. Most people are now comfortable using Zoom or other video conferencing services. The days of people driving around to see 40 houses are gone. Now, people can quickly view 20 of them online, then go see their top five in person.
Virtual services are not going away, and brokers need to put effort into digitizing the parts of the transaction that touch the customer.
Lane also listed three key areas that brokerages need to focus on to be in the right position for the rebound: Digitization of the real estate transaction, connecting with people remotely, and taking advantage of the return of iBuyers, as they’ll help accelerate real estate’s rebound.
