Meet Chris

I was born and raised in Fort Morgan, Colorado, and am a lifelong resident of Morgan County. I grew up on a farm northeast of Fort Morgan, where I worked alongside my dad, mom, and siblings. Those early experiences shaped my strong connection to agriculture, family, and the local community.

I graduated from Fort Morgan High School and attended Colorado State University. I am married to Martin Ley, and we live on a farm just north of Brush, Colorado.

I earned my real estate license in 1988 and have built my career around serving buyers and sellers throughout the area. I specialize in single family and multifamily homes, irrigated farms, pasture ground, and dryland farms, while also working with commercial and industrial properties. I also enjoy working with investors who buy and sell rental properties. Each day, I work closely with buyers and sellers to help them find properties and opportunities that fit their needs.

Community involvement has always been important to me. I was an active member of the Morgan County Board of REALTORS®️ for many years and served on the board until the organization was dissolved. I also spent more than 20 years as a 4-H leader while my children were growing up and involved in the program. Later, I served several years on the Morgan County Leaders Advisory, giving back to a program that gave so much to my children. Today, my grandchildren are 4-H members, and I especially enjoy helping them with their market steers and pigs and attending county and state fairs.

Family remains at the heart of my life. I have two grown children and five grandchildren, and I cherish every opportunity to spend time with them. My daughter and her family live just a few miles from us so I enjoy helping with the kids and dropping them off at school and daycare in the mornings. My son and his family live in Nebraska, and I enjoy staying with the kids when their parents have out-of-town work commitments. My favorite things are attending all of their sporting events, watching all my grandchildren show livestock, helping with chores in the mornings, going to Nuggets games, and simply spending time together playing cards and “hanging out”.

Martin and I also enjoy traveling and try to get away after harvest and before calving season begins at the end of February. Farming is our life, and being married to a farmer means our days and seasons naturally revolve around the farm. I also enjoy taking annual sisters’ trips with my sisters.

My life and career have been shaped by my love of agriculture, real estate, community involvement, and, above all, family.
