About Karen Straus

In the year 2000, I left NYC in a red VW Jetta to move to Boulder and I never looked back. And why would I when these beautiful mountains still take my breath away? I’ve been here over 20 years and have lived all over the front range and it’s safe to say that I LOVE THIS PLACE.

I’ve since met my husband while we were both volunteering at Community Cycles, the local community bike shop in Boulder. We married, and are raising two young daughters here in Louisville. We love to bike downtown to the farmers market on Saturday mornings and see music at the Louisville Street Faire on Fridays in the summer time. We also like to eat at some of the incredible local restaurants, and hike and camp with our sweet blue heeler mix, Django.

My background is in the music industry, where I worked as a sound engineer in the early 2000s mixing shows throughout Denver, including the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheater. I later worked in music festival production and was the VP of production at the two greatest Boulder venues, the Fox Theatre and Boulder Theater. This experience continues to translate into being a REALTOR daily.

Being a real estate agent is my true calling and I wake up every day excited to look for new listings, analyze the market, talk to clients and show properties. I remember the excitement of buying my first home when I was 24, I and I still feel that same enthusiasm for each client I work with. At every closing, I am reminded that I have the absolute BEST job. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
