The town is very close in relation to many recreational destinations such as Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods. Downtown Colorado Springs is more Urban and the further you go away from Downtown the neighborhoods start to get more suburban. There is a lot of new construction and new communities being built throughout the city but primarily towards the East.

Downtown Colorado Springs is in high demand due to its charm and convenience to shops and restaurants. It is also where Colorado College is located. Northwest, Southwest, and Western Colorado Springs are typically desired for their mature landscaping, and closeness to the mountains, trails, and wildlife. There is a good mix of newly remodeled properties and prospective older 70s, 80s, and 90s homes. There are mainly single-family homes in Colorado Springs but near downtown, there are loft options as well as townhouses. Northeast and East are home to newer properties, which have a more suburban feel with communities that have amenities such as pools, a recreation center, and good schools. Located in close proximity to military bases, Southeast and South Colorado Springs are desirable locations for homeowners.
