Vail Community and Neighborhoods

Vail Village:

Vail Village is the original vacation destination in this stretch of paradise. Crafted by Vail’s founders, the Village has been a beacon for luxury resort living and playing, constantly refashioning itself to emerge once again as the epitome of what a year-round mountain resort can be.
 
During the winter, the cobblestone pedestrian streets lead skiers and snowboarders to iconic runs and the incomparable Back Bowls. During the summer, these same streets are splashed with flower baskets and welcome window shoppers and deck sitters, hikers, and bikers to enjoy a bit of liquid celebration after a full day outside. Then there are the restaurants: From iconic fine dining establishments to newer options that seem transported from the Black Forest, Vail has options for almost every palate. Gore Creek is a gathering place for fly fishermen and families who soak tired feet in the cooling waters — those families often include the furry, four-footed members, too.
 
In the Vail Village, you’ll find a wide variety of real estate options, from the condos and partial ownership homes to the true one-of-a-kind (with its own funicular!) residences that dot the mountainside. Though real estate in Vail Village is currently setting records for sale prices, don’t let the show homes on Forest Road deter you – there are still plenty of options for owning a piece of the Vail Village lifestyle.
 

East Vail:

East Vail has the unique characteristic of being both the closest neighborhood to the Front Range and perhaps one of Vail’s most under-recognized neighborhoods. Tucked around the bends of Gore Creek, the air feels crisper here: maybe it’s the influence of the creek; maybe it’s the towering pines and graceful aspens; perhaps it’s the slightly higher elevation as you approach Vail Pass. Whatever the reason, East Vail has a distinct vibe that is easier felt than explained.
 
As a neighborhood, East Vail has a fun mix of classic and modern homes, with single-family homes, townhomes, and condominiums. Ski chalets from Vail’s earliest days are sprinkled among tasteful mansions and some genuinely unique architectural gems with plenty of history.
 
Most homes provide views of the mountains that form the East Vail chutes. These mountains offer adventurous hike-to skiing and ice climbing in the winter. And the waterfalls provide a spectacular backdrop in the summer. Some of Vail’s most popular hiking trails, like Booth Creek Falls and Gore Lake, are easily accessed from East Vail. Families and dogs congregate in Big Horn Park. The Vail Golf Course spreads at the west end, providing yet another beautiful view for homeowners.
 
Access to Vail Village and beyond is easy with Vail’s free bus system or the Vail Bike Path.
 

Arrowhead:

The private gated community of Arrowhead is located in the westernmost village area of Beaver Creek Mountain. The Arrow Bahn Express (#17) provides high-speed access not only to intermediate and advanced terrain but also serves as a gateway to the entirety of Beaver Creek Resort; Broken Arrow at the base is a popular après-ski spot. In Arrowhead, residents enjoy the tranquility of nature with amazing access to hiking, biking, golf, a swimming pool, and of course, skiing.
 
The community of Arrowhead is more than the village, though. Country Club of the Rockies members enjoys access to the private Jack Nicklaus golf course (a prime spot for snowshoeing and Nordic skiing during the winter months) and leisurely lunches and dinners in the public Vista Restaurant at the Club. Anglers have private access to fish in the pristine waters of the Eagle River. Finally, hikers and bikers love the trails on Arrowhead Mountain.
 
Real estate offerings in Arrowhead range from slope-side condominiums and duplexes to elegant single-family houses designed with mountain aesthetics in mind. With free on-demand shuttle service to the ski slopes in the winter, homeowners may never need a car.
 

West Vail:

Perhaps one of the most misunderstood areas of Vail, the question of West Vail is not what it is but what it isn’t. Where does it start? Where does it end? Truthfully, West Vail encompasses a larger area than East Vail and both Vail Village and Lionshead. But it’s when you’re surrounded by the dense forests and meandering streets of this area that you truly feel the expansiveness of this neighborhood.
 
Perhaps it’s the fact that West Vail offers properties on both the northern and southern hillsides, both with their own attractive elements. While the northern side offers extended periods of sunshine and views of the resort, the southern side provides a verdant playground with meadows and lush alpine groves. West Vail is also home to shops and restaurants that are second-homes to locals and those in the know; of course, Lionshead and Vail Village attractions are just a short drive or free bus ride away.
 

Singletree:

Those searching for the sunny side of life should head to Singletree, located just north of downtown Edwards. Here, the days seem longer, the breeze is a bit warmer, and the sunsets are just a bit more photo-worthy in this well-established neighborhood.
 
Singletree has a wide range of homes to suit buyers, including single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes, and condominiums. Though size varies, many feature spectacular views of Arrowhead Mountain and the southern mountain ranges beyond.
 
Convenience and amenities are hallmarks of popular Singletree. The neighborhood is close to schools, shopping, restaurants, and the mid-valley movie theater. It also offers many hiking and biking trails and is just 5 minutes from Arrowhead (the base area of Beaver Creek) for skiing and snowboarding.
 
The sense of community is strong in Singletree: here, neighbors chat as their dogs play at the park, families gather at the playground, the Community Center holds special events from birthday parties to wine tastings, and Harvest restaurant hosts themed dinner nights and sponsors bands.
 
Singletree’s Sonnenalp Club members enjoy a championship 18-hole golf course and one of the longest golf seasons in the Valley. They can play tennis, enjoy the family pool, or work out in the lap pool, a beautifully designed fitness center with personal trainers.

Beaver Creek:

Beaver Creek Resort’s motto was once “Not Exactly Roughing It” and those who choose to live in this gated community certainly enjoy the sentiment. From the access to a wide variety of entertainment (both active and cultural) to its sweeping views and Alps-inspired homes, Beaver Creek might be as far from “roughing it” that the Vail Valley gets.
 
Entering through the gates gives a definitive sense of arrival. Wind past the international flags that wave in honor of the FIS World Ski Championships that have been held here, and you’ll get a sense of the caliber of athleticism that is displayed here. Of course, the slopes are open to all; Beaver Creek is home to some of the best beginners’ terrain-with-a-view in the state. Oh, and did we mention the cookies that are distributed daily? These chocolate chip masterpieces are a can’t-miss end to the day before après.
 
During the summer, these hills are alive with wildflowers and the sound of mountain bikers changing gears for challenging climbs and descents. The Beaver Creek Hiking Center leads small and large groups on short and epic excursions. For those whose summers are measured by the number of holes played, the Beaver Creek Golf Course provides an epic tour of homes and unparalleled mountain views.
 
For those more culturally inclined, the opportunities are almost as expansive as the views. Home to the Vilar Performing Arts Center (VPAC), world-class performances are just an escalator ride away. From Grammy-award-winning singer/songwriters to internationally lauded performers, VPAC hosts a diverse blend of programming throughout the year.
 
Just as the amenities are varied, so are the real estate opportunities. Condominiums and fractional ownership opportunities exist in some of Beaver Creek’s hotels; single-family homes (that can fit several generations) are also available. Finally, the ski-in/ski-out ownership opportunities are vast.
 

Homestead:
